Thank you so much! I definitely agree, this is a must have for all book worms and fans of anything magical!
A full makeup line of products inspired by our favorite stories? Now that is a major dream come true for me! I’m a huge bookworm so when I saw Storybook Cosmetics announce they had big plans with collabs and products, I constantly stalked their Instagram account. They first launched a set of wand shaped makeup brushes which I was lucky to grab in the first release. Then they announced they were working on this palette that I’m about to review for you all! I was so happy to preorder and although shipping commenced a few months after preordered, it was well worth the wait!
Storybook Cosmetics was created by three sisters – they’re triplets in fact – Erin, Mandy, and Missy! They went viral in October 2016 with their wand shaped brushes! Since then, they’ve been working incredibly hard to create and deliver top of the line products inspired by stories. Currently, their shop features Wizard Wand Brush Sets, Bullseye Brush Sets, What’s In A Name Brush Set, and the Wizardry and Witchcraft Shadow Palette!
Here’s a description of the palette from their website:
This is a magical palette featuring a custom hardcover storybook with a dozen highly pigmented matte, metallic and pearl eyeshadows. The cruelty-free, long wear, buttery smooth shadow formula can be used wet or dry. Mix and match to concoct your favorite spellbinding look.
Mystical shades include:
Broomstick: rusty brown (matte), Sorcerer: ruby red (metallic), Cloak: graphite grey (matte), Potions: emerald green (metallic), Prophecy: pearly white (pearl), Salem: frosted pewter (pearl), Merlin: sapphire blue (metallic), Bewitched: coppery gold (metallic), Cauldron: charcoal black (frost), Spell Book: rich mahogany (pearl), Charms: shell pink (matte) and Jinx: shimmering silver (metallic).
The patent pending Wizardry and Witchcraft Eyeshadow Palette Book™ features a gorgeous vintage style storybook complete with gold foil details and full-sized mirror. This one of a kind book is worthy of any beauty archive.
This palette costs $52 and Storybook Cosmetics ships worldwide excluding China, Thailand, Mexico, and South America. Some products may be available to US only due to licensing restrictions.
When I first saw sneak peeks of this product, I thought the packaging looked bulky. The design seemed cute and all but I wasn’t sure if I’d like the idea of shadows in a bulky book shaped palette. However, I had full faith in these talented ladies and the packaging is absolutely gorgeous! The palette comes in a sleeve and both come in a pouch with their logo in the center.
The palette is the perfect size and the vintage style with gold foil details is beyond stunning!
I love the detailing that went behind the packaging with the quote they have right below the mirror inside!
I also love the back of the palette and sleeve. The back of the palette has a quote they created that I really adore, “Once upon a time, there were three sisters who never stopped believing in fairytales…and they all lived happily ever after.” Below that is their copyright information and logo. The sleeve has all this plus the shades and ingredients listed.
The formula is buttery and the shade range is what I had hoped it would be – magical. I found all the shades to be blendable and pigmented. The metallics ands pearls are more pigmented than the mattes, but that’s something I tend to expect with all palettes. The swatches are without primer and one layer of product. I love that there’s a gold and silver, green and blue, and basically just a bunch of different colors I associate this theme with!
I had pretty high expectations for this palette. Not just the formula, but the packaging as well. I know I won’t use this palette daily but I knew that before purchasing the palette. I love supporting indie brands, especially brands with great customer service and a team of people who love what they do and care about their customers and fans. The team behind Storybook Cosmetics does just this! I’m looking forward to their upcoming projects that are planned to release this year along with what else they have coming down the road.

Thank you so much Ronnie! I agree, they did so well with the formula!
It's such a beautiful palette!! Which shadow is your favorite? I can't wait to see their Mean Girls product.
It's so hard to choose! I was really happy with Sorcerer, Potions, Jinx, and Bewitched! And me either, I'm hoping they release some sneak peeks soon!!
Oh girl I'm a book worm too and so is my lil sis, so I think we both need this in our lives! I wouldn't want to touch it though since it's so beautiful.
Right?! It's so beautiful!
Hmm interesting. The colour scheme is definitely different, but it seemed more of a collector's item then anything else. (And that price ?) but i'm glad that they were blendable and good quality!
I agree - definitely a collectors item!
Being an HP fan like I mentioned before, this palette is also calling my name!! Why does makeup have to be such an expensive addiction?! ? Lol!
Right?! I need all the Harry Potter related things in my life ?
I agree with you! Supporting small indie brands are so important! Plus, this palette is adorable! I'm a huge HP fan myself, and I think the shades are spot on. I'm not the biggest fan of the packaging, but it still fits so well!
Yes - indie brands are so great!
I really want this pallet!!!
Really considering getting this palette, but am wondering it it'll fit in my wall mounted palette organizer, how thick it the "binding" of the book (if that makes sense lol)? I was trying to find out on the company website but they don't list the dimensions. Thanks in advance!
