Skincare in my 30s: Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin
This post may contain affiliate links. See disclosure page for details.
It’s been a while since I shared an updated skincare routine and it might be one of the first times I share my skincare routine in my 30s (at least here on the blog). Although there are a few staples that I continue to use consistently, there are a few newer products to my routine that have made such a positive difference for my skin.
A little about myself and my skin: I am in my early 30s and have sensitive, combination skin. My skin does get a bit drier during winter and summer and I have acne prone skin + hormonal acne.
Gone are my times with the 10 step skincare routine. Those were good times and worked for my skin but I do prefer a more minimal skincare routine these days. I know my version of a more minimal routine might be intense for some, but for me it’s been a significant decrease in products used.
I’m sharing skincare products I use often - some I use daily, some I use when needed. Also want to stress that this is what works for me and my skin type but your skin may be different and might react differently to certain skincare products.

Skincare I use in my 30s - Cleanser
I double cleanse my face with the Farmacy Cleansing Balm - it’s one of my favorites because it breaks down all my makeup and removes so much without irritating my skin. I also love this and rotate between this and Farmacy quite a bit. If you’re looking for a more budget friendly option, . Double cleansing allows me to get a deeper and more complete cleanse as opposed to using a face wash alone.
Skincare I use in my 30s - Moisturizer, Serum, Eye Cream
This is newer to my skincare routine and I’m just about finished with my first bottle. I sometimes wear this alone or couple it with another moisturizer for when I need more hydration. This formula has been so magical in reducing redness and feels so comfortable on the skin.
If you’re looking for a balancing moisturizer that hydrates and soothes skin, this is a great option! It’s one I keep for year round.
I also keep the on hand for when my skin is extra dry.
La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMUNE 400 50+
I can’t find a link to this SPF - it’s one my friend gifted to me and she got it from France. It’s amazing though and if you’re able to find it, I recommend it! It’s non greasy, doesn’t leave a white cast, and does not irritate my skin. I do want to branch out and try some US based La Roche Posay SPFs and will update y’all if I find one I really like.
I also enjoy using this SPF, it’s been so great for my sensitive skin!

I love this SPF from Supergoop! to use on my body, it doesn’t feel greasy on skin and the formula is lightweight.
This serum is so good! It is a bit pricey but it works so well to brighten and firm skin and it targets dark spots. It’s formulated with saffron which is known for its antioxidant, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties. There is a if you prefer to try before committing to the full size.

This is a newer serum and I have been using it daily since I got it! It helps plump and hydrate skin and helps preserve collagen. I love how plump my skin looks and feels after using it.
*
This brightening eye cream is made with ingredients to help fade hyperpigmentaiton over time and has a cooling applicator that I really love - it helps boost circulation.
Other Skincare Products in my Routine
This lip sleeping mask is part of my unofficial evening routine. I use it every single night and wake up with soft, hydrated lips!
This lip butter has been my go to lip butter and I use it each morning and when needed throughout the day. It’s budget friendly and leaves my lips nourished.

I love a good body lotion and this one’s been so nice to use on the daily! It’s non greasy and helps restore skin’s natural skin barrier.
How to try Skincare Products on a Budget
I love trying new skincare and am so grateful to the brands that send me products to try, but I want to share a couple different ways I try skincare products new to me without breaking the bank.
First way is to receive free skincare samples - my number one way of scoring free sample size skincare (and makeup + hair care too!) is by getting them as gift with purchases with my beauty orders. ULTA offers a ton of gifts with purchases, ! Unless it’s something I want/need right away, I’ll try to wait to make a purchase until they offer a gift with purchases (sign up for their emails to get notified of GWPs!) Here’s an example of a recent ULTA gift with purchase I received! Sephora offers gift with purchases as well - .
Second way is by purchasing mini sizes of products I’m interested in trying. Lots of brands offer smaller sizes of their skincare products! I also love purchasing skincare sets, especially around the holidays.
Anywho these - are skincare products currently in my rotation! I envision my moisturizer and serums to possibly change once winter ends. What skincare products have you been loving lately?
