Self Care – Four Ways To Live A Happier And More Fulfilling Life
Do you feel content with your life but want to feel more fulfilled? Or you donโt feel content at all and just want to be happier and live with peace. The key to increasing your happiness and living a more fulfilled life is within YOU! See how a bit of self care can change your life.

My nutrition coach, Dee, taught me so much but one thing she told me that I always tell myself is that the majority of the work is switching your mentality. This isnโt just the case for nutrition but works for other parts of life as well!
Take it from someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety. Iโve worked through a ton of issues the last decade of my life and although theyโre not completely gone, I have the tools and means to make a positive change in my life and I want to share those with you.
The tips Iโll be sharing wonโt show results right away. Itโs a process and difficult in some ways but remember, nothing amazing comes through shortcuts and easy ways out!
Prioritize Yourself
Are you a people pleaser? I know I am! Iโve been one since as long as I can remember, always putting others happiness before mine. Let me just say, thereโs nothing wrong with being putting others before yourself – as long as youโre balancing your happiness and mental health in the midst of things as well!
If you find yourself constantly frustrated, upset, unhappy – take a moment to reflect on things. This is YOUR life and YOU deserve to be happy!
Other ways to prioritize yourself can be by doing small but highly effective things like reading a book, journaling, exercising, spending time with loved ones or friends, or anything else that makes YOU happy.

If you have that mindset where youโre not comfortable doing things for yourself – remember that it is OKAY to be a little selfish! Lifeโs all about balance.
Remove Toxic People From Your Life
This is HUGE.
Surrounding yourself with toxic people is very unhealthy. Sometimes you donโt even realize how toxic some people are and how their company creates a negative effect on you until youโre separated from them!
These toxic people can be family, friends, coworkers, pretty much anyone in your life.
Do you cut them out of your life? It depends on the level of toxicity they present and if youโre okay with removing them from your life.
If thereโs someone in your life that doesnโt provide positive value and you donโt want to ice them out – that is OKAY. Maybe youโre hoping theyโll change or that their negative vibes is just temporary. What you CAN do is work to not let them affect your life and find a way to balance that relationship.
Exampleโs help, right? I have someone in my life that I valued so highly, that person was consistently in my life until a while ago. What was always a positive, empowering relationship went to the complete opposite. I wish I realized all the negative effects they were having on my life but I had zero clue until I physically separated myself from that person. I didnโt realize how that person went from empowering me to crushing my confidence and self esteem. Thankfully, I do have a tribe of incredible people that continue to build me up to the point where I am that confident person again.
But wait, did I ice that negative person out? Nope. But I did distance myself from them and am balancing a relationship to where I respect and continue to let them be a part of my life yet I refuse to let them be a deciding factor in my happiness.
Refine Your Tribe
Build that positive, empowering tribe! Whether itโs those in real life or your online community. Even if itโs celebrities or social media stars you follow on Instagram – keep those that spread those happy vibes!
Surrounding yourself with good people – whether they do good in the community, are encouraging, or those that enrich your life. Keeping them close will make your days brighter. Look for those that are kind, compassionate, inspiring, and warm. They will add value to your life.

Acceptance Is Key
Accept yourself and your situation. Maybe your dreams havenโt come true yet or you havenโt reached certain goals. THAT IS OKAY!
Donโt beat yourself up, especially nowadays when everyone seems to be living these incredible lives based on their Facebook and Instagram posts. Also remember, everything happens at its own pace and that pace is different for EVERYONE.
Do I wish I was married and had 2 kids by now? Or a successful, high paying career with my Masters degree? Yes but Iโve learned to accept that Iโm a late bloomer and the universe will allow these things to happen at the right time.
These are the four topics I wanted to highlight today to live a happier and more fulfilling life. A lot of this has to do with making a mental switch and finding the right balance for yourself. Do you have any tips to share, let me know in the comments!
