Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick Review
Like many others, I was really excited when Selena Gomez launched her own beauty brand last year. Excitement ranged from seeing Selena Gomez herself launch her own beauty line to learning the price point on some of their products is on the more budget friendly side when it comes to beauty products sold at Sephora to learning more about the mission and values of Rare Beauty itself.

What is Rare Beauty
Rare Beauty is a beauty brand founded by Selena Gomez and they strive to break down the unrealistic standards of perfection. Rare Beauty’s website states that Rare Beauty products are created for you to feel good in without hiding what makes you unique because Rare Beauty is not about being someone else, but being who you are.

When I learned more about Rare Beauty’s mission to help everyone celebrate their individuality by redefining what being beautiful meant, I knew I wanted to give their products a try. I started off with purchasing the Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick and Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation.
I had great experiences with everything I bought in my first Rare Beauty haul and also purchased the Rare Beauty Discovery Eyeshadow Palette. I have swatches the Rare Beauty eyeshadow palette here. Also shared more info about the Discovery Eyeshadow Palette in this blog post.
What I also admire about Rare Beauty is their vision to create a safe, welcoming space that also supports mental well-being for all. Rare Beauty aims to increase access to mental health services in educational settings, you can learn more about the Rare Impact here.

Rare Beauty products are cruelty free, vegan, and dermatologist tested. Their outer packaging boxes (minus limited edition) is 100% recyclable and are made from responsibly sourced, FSC-certified materials, and printed with water-based ink! Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick
The Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipsticks by Rare Beauty are weightless air-whipped lip creams that claim to be rich in color and provide nourishing hydration with a soft velvety matte finish. The liquid lipsticks are formulated to smooth out lips while giving a soft blurring effect. These Rare Beauty Liquid Lipsticks are meant to give a lightweight and comfortable wear all day long and are made with nourishing ingredients like Vitamin E and a botanical blend of lotus, gardenia, and white waterlily.

Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipsticks cost $20 per shade and currently are available in 12 beautiful shades. Each liquid lipstick contains 0.13 oz. The packaging of these lipsticks reflect the color of the shade and the doe foot applicator allows for a rich amount of color application with precision.
My Thoughts of the Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipsticks
I purchased shades Brave (muted terracotta) and Heroic (true berry) at my local Sephora a few weeks after they launched. Lipsticks are one of my favorite makeup products, especially liquid lipsticks. During the trip to Sephora, I also picked up the Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation. I have a demo of the Rare Beauty foundation here and here. I use shade 310W in the Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation.
I’ve been using these Rare Beauty liquid lipsticks on and off for nearly a year now and have had a good amount of wear time with both shades to share some full thoughts. Both shades are incredibly pretty. I wear berry shades more often so I was definitely more comfortable and reached for the shade Heroic more often than Brave. I still think Brave is a pretty shade but Heroic is for sure a shade I use more consistently. Catch my lip swatch video of these Rare Beauty lipsticks here and here!

The formula of these Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipsticks are exactly as they’re marketed. These liquid lipsticks are a whipped formula that is on the hydrating and nourishing side. The Rare Beauty lippies are rich in color and I found Heroic to be more rich in color than Brave. The formula of these lip creams does provide long lasting hydration and they do not dry out my lips or crack at all.
I enjoy wearing the Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipsticks on a day to day basis and they’re also great for formal events. I feel confident enough wearing these alone, without a lip liner, but I have tried them with lip liners and they were nice on top of them too.

These liquid lipsticks are a soft matte formula and they are not transfer proof. They last pretty decently throughout the day but are not your typical ultra matte, long lasting liquid lipstick that doesn’t require touch ups. I always keep this on hand to touch up if I know I’ll be out for more than a couple of hours.
Ultimately, I do enjoy these Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipsticks and have a few more shades on my wishlist that I hope to splurge on soon. Have you tried these Rare Beauty lipsticks?
