It’s the last day of March which means it’s time to dive into all the products I used up this month. I have quite a few to show you all and discuss. Several holy grails and several that are new to me that I added to my list of things to purchase! I have a good mix of makeup and skincare to share with you today.
Products marked with * were received as a press sample.
I’m not sure what has been up with my skin lately but beginning of this year and up until recently, I was dealing with some acne flare ups on my face, chest, and back so I’ve been using more acne pimple patch dots than usual. You can see the other two brands of pimple patches I used up recently here. I bought these acne dots from Alba Botanica at Target - I’ve used them before and like how they work to reduce inflammation. One box comes with 40 pimple patches. Alba Botanica is cruelty free and these pimple patches are free of parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. It’s also marked as a Target clean beauty brand!
If you’ve been following me for a while, especially on the gram - you know how much I LOVE Dermalogica’s Age Smart SkinPerfect Primer. I mentioned it in my Top Makeup Primers post here and shared it in action here. This isn’t the first time I used up an entire SkinPerfect Primer and I’m confident it won’t be my last - in fact, I already have another one opened up!
This primer from dermalogica gives a blurring effect by smoothing fine lines and also brightens skin. This specific blurring primer goes to another level because of its skincare benefits. Dermalogica’s SkinPerfect Primer has SPF and is marketed as formulated to help hydrate skin, reduce wrinkles and increase skin’s firmness. I love to wear this as my primer prior to applying foundation but also enjoy wearing it on its own on a daily basis to give my skin additional SPF + a smooth look.
Dermalogica is cruelty free, vegan, and free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances.
Another Dermalogica favorite and this is one I have used consistently for YEARS. Talk about nearly a decade. This Special Cleansing Gel is a great daily facial cleanser. I use it day and night and it’s been amazing for my sensitive, acne prone, combination skin for all the years I’ve used it. I personally prefer the larger size because it does come with a pump - that’s the one I have open now!
This face wash is soap free, naturally foaming formula that’s gentle and lightweight. It does a great job at washing away impurities.
I received both the fragrance free and Aloe hand washes and from the poll I shared on my Instagram Story, the majority of y’all voted for me to use Aloe. That’s the one I used up and I’m well in my way of finishing up the fragrance free as well! This vegan formula hydrates skin while cleansing. It’s also really affordable and is formulated without many of the bad things I try to avoid in beauty products. Added these hand washes to my shopping list - they’re simple yet effective.
Dial’s Clean + Gentle Foaming Hand Washes are free of dyes, parabens, phthalates, and silicones. These hand washes are also dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic.
Same as I mentioned above, in a poll I conducted on the gram, the majority of those who voted wanted me to test out Waterlily first! Similar to the hand wash, this body wash was super gentle on my sensitive skin and did a great job with cleansing my body and left it feeling smooth. Dial’s Clean + Gentle Body Washes are free of dyes, parabens, phthalates, and silicones. These body washes are also dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic.
This lip polish does it all - buffs and exfoliates lips, leaving them soft and smooth. It works well for me but I do have other lip polishes I enjoy as well and don’t see myself repurchasing this right away. It’s not bad but it’s not a holy grail either. This lip scrub is formulated without parabens and phthalates.
This vegan sunscreen is a lightweight, sheer, and non greasy formula. I didn’t experience any grey cast and really enjoyed the formula - it’s on the list of top facial sunscreens here. On my list to purchase once I use up the other sunscreens I have open. Kinship is clean, cruelty free, and vegan.
I received this in one of my Ipsy Bags, you can see all my unboxings here. This mascara is powered by magnetic technology to lift, define, and add volume and length to lashes. Definitely does everything it claims - it’s something more of a daily, natural, enhance your lashes mascara for me.
Absolutely love Thrive Causemetics as a brand - they do so much to give back and the products I’ve tried from them have been great. This brow gel is one of my favorites to use for a natural and defined brow look. My brows are pretty full as they are but I like to go over them with a brow gel for that definition and fill in the sparse areas. I use the shade Serena and cannot wait to add a fresh one into my collection!
One of my setting sprays I use for travel - haven’t been doing any of that since we’re in a pandemic but I did want to use this up sooner than later since it was already open. Can’t say enough good things about Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray - it’s the perfect finishing mist to complete your makeup look and lock it in. This is one of those products where I make sure to purchase backups for my backup.
These are my March makeup and skincare empties! Have you emptied any products recently?
