Healthy Eating Habits for Inner and Outer Beauty
Itโs a new year meaning new goals and new habits. One of my goals for this year is to create healthier eating habits without major restrictions. Healthy eating habits help with both inner and outer beauty by all the nutrients that healthy foods provide. Inner beauty through maintaining my health and outer beauty through clear, glowing skin + stronger hair and nails. Today Iโm sharing a few ways Iโm practicing better eating habits like staying hydrated, healthier and natural snacking, and being mindful of what I take in.

I truly believe healthy eating is a good habit to have not only for our health, but also for a happier life! I shared my other habits for a happier life here. For now, letโs dive into some of the healthy eating habits I work to incorporate into my day to day life.

Healthy Eating Habits – Practicing Mindfulness
I am a MAJOR foodie and have a big appetite. Mindful eating keeps me in check and helps me not overeat. When I say mindful eating, the biggest thing I am trying to do is make food and eating decisions on what my body tells me rather than binge eating or choosing the easier option. Through practicing mindfulness in the past, I noticed I chose healthier, natural, and whole food choices like fruits, nuts, and veggies for snacking instead of choosing processed foods. That doesnโt mean I totally eliminate cookies or chips, I just choose to see what my body really is asking for rather than eating a large bag of Hot Cheetos or BBQ Lays in one sitting.

Another mindful eating habit Iโm working on is seeing how my body reacts to what I choose to eat. Does what I eat give me energy or does it make me sluggish? Do I feel like I ate too much? Did I eat too little? Asking yourself these questions can help you develop healthier eating choices over time!
Healthy Eating Habits – Natural Snacking
Choosing natural snacks enriches your inner and outer beauty. I love snacking with my own trail mix creations which usually involve nuts, dried fruit, and sometimes Iโll add in dark chocolate – I know itโs not natural but your girlโs got a major sweet tooth!

I especially enjoy eating almonds – I donโt know what it is but Iโve always been a fan of almonds, whether itโs eating them natural and whole and as almond milk, and baking with almond flour! Did you know almonds are a great superfood and eating 28 almonds a day has 5 grams of plant protein per serving and are an excellent source of antioxidant Vitamin E and a good source of magnesium? Vitamin E promotes healthy and smooth hair, nails, and skin and magnesium promotes restfulness.

I get my almond fix from Blue Diamond at Target. Blue Diamond Whole Natural Almonds are perfect for healthy and daily snacking and these 12 oz bags from Target are perfect to keep in your pantry as theyโre resealable!
Staying Hydrated
Staying hydrated is also a healthy habit Iโm focusing on. In the past I put a lot of pressure on myself to get my daily intake in – I try to drink a gallon of water a day. Now, Iโm trying to be mindful about how hydration doesnโt only come from drinking water – it also comes from a variety of water rich foods and vegetables! I talk more about water rich foods and how to stay hydrated in this post.
These are some of the eating habits Iโm focusing on this new year! Iโm a firm believer that small changes lead to a more sustainable lifestyle. Do you have any New Year goals?
