I love pizza but never make it myself! I think even I can handle this recipe! 🙂
Pizza is one of my all time favorite foods, especially homemade pizza! And let me tell you, it is one of the EASIEST things I’ve made. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you know we make pizza nearly twice a month, sometimes even more often, so I thought it was finally time to share a recipe with you all!
This pizza is perfect for that weekend pick me up, parties and get togethers! One thing we like to do when we’re making pizza for group settings is make the crusts the morning of or the night before so all we need to do is add the sauce, cheese and toppings and stick it in the oven! If you do this, be sure to cover all the crusts in a bag or foil. I like storing them in pillow cases to keep them fresh!
I never bothered learning how to make pizza crust on my own because
Boy was I wrong! When I started pushing myself to learn how to cook different dishes a few years ago I asked my mom to show me how to make pizza crust. Surprisingly, it was much easier and simple than expected. Mainly because we used pizza crust mix - no specific brand, we like switching it up! We do make pizza crust from scratch as well but this is the method I use when I'm the one baking.
These are the things you’ll want to have before starting your pizza prep:
Pizza crust mix, salt, ajwain, ground chili pepper, olive oil, warm water, pizza sauce, cheese, and other toppings (I primarily use red onions, green onions, olives, mushrooms, bell pepper and serrano peppers).
Although I switch between brands, the ones I use the most are Betty Crocker and Martha White.
First you’ll want to heat your oven to 450 degrees. To prepare the crust, follow the instructions on the back of the packet. Although the instructions don’t say, I like adding one tbsp spoon of olive oil and half a tbsp of the following: salt, ajwain, chili pepper prior to adding the warm water. Once the dough is complete, use a wooden rolling pin to roll the dough out.
One tool I just began using a couple months ago is this Silicone Pastry Mat. It makes creating the perfect size crust so much easier and is helpful in other baking needs too! What I also really love about this mat is that it has helpful tips and measuring conversions listed on it!
Once you’re done rolling out the dough, transfer it to your pizza pan and use a fork to make holes all around the crust. Place the pan in the oven from 12-17 minutes or until a golden brown and keep in mind how crispy/soft you like your crust! An extra step I do is flip the crust about half-way through to even it out.
While the crust is baking, prepare your toppings if you haven’t already! For the pizza in this photo, I chopped up a bag of green onions, added a handful of mushrooms on my half and shredded a block of colby jack cheese.
Once the crust is complete, add pizza sauce on top - my favorite sauce to use is Hunt’s Tomato Sauce! After that, add cheese and toppings to your liking!
Once you’re done, pop the pizza back in the oven for an additional 7-12 minutes or until the cheese starts to bubble! Let it cool for a couple minutes and if you're into spicy foods like me, chop a few serrano peppers on the side!
Incredibly easy and delicious vegetarian pizza! Super easy to make and customizable to everyone's liking. Perfect for a night in and even parties!
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Follow the instructions on the back of the packet and add 1/2 tbsp salt, ajwain, and ground red chili pepper and 1 tbsp olive oil (not mandatory but recommended!)
Roll the dough out and place on pizza pan. Place pan in oven for 12-17 minutes or until golden brown.
While the crust is baking, chop the green onions and shred the cheese.
Take crust out of the oven and add tomato sauce, cheese, and green onions.
Place back into the oven for 7-12 minutes or until the cheese begins to bubble. Take out and enjoy!
That’s it! You’re ready to enjoy!
