Cover FX Power Play Foundation - Review

Cover FX Power Play Foundation is one of the very few foundation lines in the beauty industry that truly matches my Indian skin and warm undertone with its inclusive shade range. As a medium/olive skin tone gal with warm undertones, I find it difficult finding foundations that match me without having to rely on a foundation mixer or to mix two shades to create a custom foundation shade. I know this isn't a struggle I face alone. I’m sharing all the deets about Cover Fx Power Play below and a couple looks of how this foundation sits on my skin.

COVER FX POWER PLAY

is a vegan, long-wearing liquid foundation that is said to provide full coverage and matte finish. One of the neat things about the formula of Power Play is that it provides a defense from environmental pollutants. Cover FX Power Play is recommended for combination and oily skin types. This foundation costs $44 and you can shop this at coverfx.com as well as at retailers like Ulta, Beautylish, and Dermstore. Cover FX is cruelty free.

I use the shade ! A little about my skin and beauty preference. I have combination skin, meaning parts are dry and I have an oily t-zone. I prefer medium coverage and a formula that is light and feels skin like. As for foundation finishes, I truly don't mind them all but I do lean towards soft matte finishes!

PACKAGING

Power Play has plastic, rectangular shaped packaging and the product is dispersed by squeezing the bottle. There is no pump.

FORMULA

Cover FX’s Power Play foundation is made with clean ingredients, is vegan, and the formula itself isn’t super thick or watery, it's more like a medium consistency. The formula blends into skin fairly easily and does not leave any patchiness. Power Play feels skin like and has a weightless matte finish.

Although this foundation claims to be full coverage, I find it to be medium coverage with the initial layer that can be built to a full coverage with additional layering. I enjoy this foundation a ton because it feels lightweight on my skin, is long lasting, controls shine, and most importantly, matches my skin without having to create my own foundation cocktail which is something I often need to do with other foundations on the market.  I also really love that is formulated to be a powerful pollution defense and is free of harmful ingredients.

foundation is versatile, I enjoy wearing it on a day to day basis as well as special events. I find it incredibly trustworthy. This foundation stays put and works well alongside other products I layer on top like setting power, bronzer, contour, blush, highlight, etc. I use this CoverFX Power Play both with makeup brushes and sponges and find it applies well with every beauty tool I've used.
